BEHIND THE NAME
My Grandpa McCabe always told me his camera gave him a free ticket around the world. When he enlisted in the U.S. Navy at age 17, his supervisors said he was too young to hold a gun, so they handed him a camera. He captured pivotal moments during WWII, including trials and General MacArthur.
Back stateside, he and his brother opened the McCabe Brothers Camera Shop in Alexandria, Minnesota, which they operated from the 1950s to the 1980s.
